Welcome to Harve de Grace (Harbor of Grace)! Situated at the mouth of the Susquehanna River and the head of Chesapeake Bay, it is named after the port city of Le Havre, France. Harve de Grace, MD was honored as one of America’s 20 best small towns to visit in 2014 by Smithsonian magazine.
Here at the marina, you can enjoy fishing right off the pier. There are very nice public bathrooms and a restaurant right on the water. There is also a beautiful promenade that will take you to the Concord Point Lighthouse (built in 1827 out of Port Deposit granite) that has beautiful views and is rich in history.
Walk the grounds of the Light Keeper’s House and learn what it took to keep the Lighthouse burning at night so sailors had safe passage (fascinating!).
Enjoy the views and make new friends along the way!
Be sure to stop by La Cucina’s Italian Restaurant on N. Washington St. for an incredible slice of white, spinach pizza – definite must try – yum.
Your shopping excursion must include The Blue Heron. What an exquisite boutique! There is something for everyone and for every budget.
